Re: Results of Lake Erie / Niagara Regional Science Olympiad

To All Coaches, Students and Parents,

I need to start of by apologizing for an honest mistake that was made on Saturday March 15, 2008 with the finial tally sheet. Unfortunately when my team of volunteers were entering the individual event scores, events numbered 17, 18, and 19 never added into the final points. These events changed the overall standings. This team of volunteers has worked on this assignment for the last 3 years; therefore I never checked the calculations when they brought the sheet to me in the Auditorium. I personally feel that it is my error and that I dropped the ball by not double checking the numbers. I truly need to apologize to the top three teams who received the incorrect rankings and trophies on Saturday during the Awards Ceremony.

On a positive note, Lake Erie / Niagara will be sending three teams to the NY State Level Science Olympiad Competition the weekend of April 11, 2008. St. Gregory the Great will be Team #4 (Lake Erie / Niagara 1st Place), Hamburg Middle School will be Team # 17 (Lake Erie / Niagara 2nd Place) and Transit Middle School will be Team # 22 (Lake Erie / Niagara 3rd Place - Optional Team). If one of these teams can not attend, Amherst Middle School would go as the alternate.
